Low Cost No Frills Golf Group Travel

Every now and again a new business launches which aims to ‘disrupt’ the market in which it operates. Remember the days before Easyjet and Ryanair. Flights were mainly operated by national flag carriers such as BA and prices were significantly higher then today in real terms. The so called ‘low cost’ airlines were able to operate at lower prices because they cut out a lot of the ‘nice to have’ services offered by the national flag carriers.

We aim to do the same for group golf travel. Sometimes it is what you don’t do that makes you the best at what you do do !

When it comes to making golf travel arrangements there is very little more work for the agent when booking a trip for 8 people than booking a trip for 2 – yet by applying the same %age mark up the agent will make 4x the profit out of the group of 8. We don’t do that – we work on a fixed mark up purely for groups.

In addition todays travel industry is full of ‘added value’ extra’s that all add to an agents operating costs and therefore to the amount of profit an agent needs to make to offset those costs. We have stripped out many of those costs so that we operate very leanly and pass on those savings to our customers. So what savings do we make

  • We only book groups – we do not take low value bookings.
  • We operate as a contract rate facilitator for the organiser of a golf group. It means a bit more work for the organiser but we save the group hundreds, sometimes thousands of pounds.
  • We only work with a limited number of golf resort and golf course operators in Spain Portugal and Turkey. We know the resorts and courses inside out.
  • We do not book low value UK golf breaks – there is such little profit in booking a 1 night Sunday driver for example – but the amount of work involved is the same as a 5 night break to Portugal !
  • We do not book flights. Low cost airlines dominate flights to our destinations and they do not pay any agent commission. So to cover the additional work involved and the additional trading licences required the typical agent would need to make additional profit.
  • We do not accept credit card payments. Credit card providers place a very substantial fee that is paid by the agent when taking a payment by credit card again requiring more profit to offset.
  • We do not operate a conventional office – we work from home and don’t even keep regular office hours – but we do respond to every enquiry within 24 hours and offer a full service to all clients in resort.
  • We do not sponsor celebrities  and pro golfers to help promote our business !

No we accept that our business model is not for everyone – if you don’t like any of the above then there are plenty of typical golf travel operators out there who are hungry for your business.

BUT – they will incur all of the additional costs that we have cut out and therefore will not be able to compete with our prices – remember we will save your group hundreds if not thousands of pounds.

So who are we ?

Paul has previously owned & operated a travel agency and has been a director of a golf travel operator so has amassed a wealth of knowledge and contacts in the golf travel industry. Now semi retired and living in beautiful Cornwall Paul and wife Debbie run the business. Debb runs the ‘back office’ and Paul is the person that you are most likely to speak to.
